How I Got Here
Hi, I’m Alex Bleiweis, a therapist helping other therapists plan the vacation they truly deserve.
Before becoming an LCSW-C therapist, my path took a few unexpected (and unforgettable) turns. I spent several years working in the Scheduling and Advance Office for President Obama, coordinating logistics and travel for the White House. That experience taught me how to think ten steps ahead, manage complex itineraries, and make sure every detail runs smoothly. Those same skills translate perfectly into both therapy and travel planning.
After my time in D.C., I shifted gears to the hospitality world and served as the Director of Guest Experience at MGM National Harbor. My job was to ensure that every guest felt valued, seen, and cared for, which in many ways is not so different from being a therapist. I learned how transformative great service can be when it comes to helping people feel restored and taken care of.
Then life took another turn. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland and began my career as a therapist. In the therapy room, I help clients slow down, reflect, and care for themselves. But over time, I realized something: therapists are great at helping others recharge, and terrible at doing it for ourselves.
That is where my travel work comes in.
Today, through my travel agency work with Fora, I help therapists plan the kind of vacations that let them completely unplug, whether that is a Royal Caribbean adventure or a Celebrity Cruises escape. I blend my background in logistics, hospitality, and mental health to design stress-free travel experiences that make rest and joy a priority.
When I am not helping others plan their next getaway, you can usually find me on a cruise myself, exploring the Caribbean with my wife and our two young kids.
Because rest is not a luxury, it is essential.
Ready to plan your next escape?
Whether you are dreaming of a Royal Caribbean cruise, a Celebrity voyage, or simply a stress-free break somewhere beautiful, I can help make it happen. Let’s take the kind of vacation you have been encouraging your clients to take all along.
